Gresham Transit Corridor — Urban Planning
The Gresham Transit Corridor was a project that looked at establishing a more permanent sense of identity and place for the town of Gresham, Oregon. With its proximity to Portland, Gresham wanted their main transit center to be a gateway that would become an anchor to a growing population of commuters.
The transit center is between two nodes; their historic downtown and their suburban neighborhoods. Using a hierarchy of vegetation, lighting, and varying ground textures I wanted to disrupt the established grid with a diagonal corridor that would help to link these isolated nodes into a larger and more cohesive urban experience. The corridor itself would provide a variety of seating and a network of paths for pedestrians and cyclists that would guide the user through the permeable site.
