Kapok — Chair Design
I saw the tree roots as a place for gathering and seating, a natural form to cradle the body as it rests.
I was inspired by the Kapok trees of South America when designing this chair. I saw the tree roots as a place for gathering and seating, a natural form to cradle the body as it rests. I wanted the form of the chair to appear as a single wooden piece, and reflect the subtle curves and angles of the tree roots. Overall, my goal was to create a minimal design that held the essence of the Kapok tree while providing comfort to the user.
